Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 10/14/2010(UTC) Posts: 2		The latch on my MAYTAG MODEL PDBTT49AWW got loose and does not work. It's just floating inside the display panel. I tried to remove the display panel but after removing screws I could not get that panel to disengage from the dishwasher. Afraid to pull too hard so I don't break plastic. I either have to replace the latch if it's broken or reattach it. Any ideas? Fred

You may have t remove all the screws from the door, if the latch assembly fell beyond the console. Once you remove the screws (there are four of them [make sure there aren't any screws on the sides]), the console should just lift away, exposing the assembly and mounting bracket.
