Lint on clothing is actually created in the washer from the abusive effects the agitator has on them and lint is fiber coming out of the fabric so as you can see clothes don't last very long with top load washers. So maybe the problem is in the washer I know on Kenmores the lint screen on the bottom of the wash tubs(WHICH IS SUPPOISE TO BE SELF CLEANING) get plugged up and dont work very well also cheap clothes produce more lint. Try a gentler cycle on the washer and see if that helps also make sure your lint screen on the dryer isn't plugged you can tell this by holding the lint screen under a faucet and if it holds water it's plugged with the wax off the dryer sheets like bounce you can clean them with a moderately hard bristle cleaning brush.

Lets go back to the dryer pull the back ofit back off, and remove the screws that attach the blower housing there will be four of them and lint piles up in the bottom of if after you remove the 4 screws pull it out and reach your hand up there and dig out the lint wear a pair of gloves cuz the edges are sharp. Also did you cleen the dryer lint screen? and do the test with water? It's sounding like the dryer is totally plugged also run it with the vent off how much air flow is coming out of the exhaust? The washer screen is hard to get to. The tub will need to be removed
