Hi, my gas dryer stopped heating last night. When I removed the lower panel, I saw that the igniter seemed to be turning on and off as it should but there wasn't any gas getting to the burner. The gas valve solonoids seemed to be pretty hot. What I don't know is if they are supposed to be hot or if they are hot because they are not working and are preventing gas from getting to the burner. I guess I don't know whether I should buy the whole burner unit or just the solonoids. Thanks.

Well most of the time on a Whirlypool gas dryer when the ignitor lights but no gas it's the Primary and assist coils on the valve. Replace both I can't remember if the Thermal kills power to the ignitor or not I'm thinking it does. Been awhile since I worked onm a gas dryer but I'd replace the coils They come together and check the thermal with an ohm meter just to be safe it will be the white plastic lookin one on the blower housing
