My daughter's dryer stopped drying. The tub turns but there is no heat. I have removed the back cover but did not see anything that looked like it may be the problem. The heat element looks ok but have not checked it with a meter. I do not have a schematic so I would only be guessing what every thing is. Any help as what to look for? Thanks in advance.

Would this look like the complete model: 96561220 65612? If this is not I will look again today and also get the serial.

I did go back and checked the items above but was ok. I then checked the heating element with an ohm meter and found the problem. The reason I did not see this problem before it was under the metal plate that covers half of the coils. It looked like the metal plate in the center had cracked and deflected down on the coil and shorted out. Now she is looking for a new dryer as the heating element will probably be a little high for an older machine. The cheapest one I found was about 60 plus shipping.
