MFG #P1101203WL. Both sides not cooling. Suspected faulty defrost timer. Changed it but still doesn't cool/freeze. Understand the defrost circut is made up of 3 parts: defrost timer, defrost heater and defrost terminator. Is that correct? If so, where are the heator and terminator located, what do they look like and how do I troubleshoot?
Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom,

Why did you suspect the defrost system?

Are the compressor and fans next to the compressor and inside the freezer working?

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for AMANA SZD27KBL Ref - SXS/I&W | AppliancePartsPros.com

Dear deangelis,

Below is a copy of your reply to the automated email sent to you. Please post all Q&A's to the forum directly.

We appreciatte your cooperation and looking forward to serving you with all your appliance needs.

Sorry to have taken so long to get back at this, but here goes. As a
recap, I have an Amana Side by side refrigerator model SZD27KBL. Both
sides quit cooling. Turned defrost timer a few clicks and it seemed to
start to cool, so I replaced defrost timer. That didn't fix the problem.
Here's what I know. By turning defrost timer I can feel compressor
engage. Compressor fan is working as is fan in refrigerator. I unplugged
unit over the weekend and the following day there was a lot of water on
the floor under it. The compressor is warm/hot to the touch when unit is
plugged in.

Understand that a heater and heater terminator are also part of the
defrost cycle.
Here's my questions.
Where is heater and heater terminator located, what do they look like
and how do I troubleshoot them?
Given the above what do you suggest I test/troubleshoot next. Please be
specific as to how, where located, what does it look like, etc.
Thanks, Tom

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check how the evaporator is covered with snow. Post the results.
