after installing brand new clock/control module(erc) in the stove as the old one seemed to be no good after doing tests....i'm still getting f1 error....could the brand new part be defective or is there something other than the clock module that throws off f1 on this model...

i'm replying to my own post to let anyone who comes across it that while i did the testing as supplied for the f1 error on my magic chef range it wasn't the clock module (erc) that was the problem as i stated in my original post .....having found maytag service libraries website ( http://www.servicematters.com/default.htm ) and reading more into code errors i found that f1 error has more than one meaning (sub codes).....so after buying a $38.00 oven sensor i'm waiting for a rma to return my $125.00 module as i don't need it

You may or may not get your $125 back after having installed the part. Most parts suppliers won't refund on electrical parts after being installed. Pray you do though! Nat
