Hello All. I am in a quandry. My dryer turns and blows good but no heat to the air. I have 240V at my outlet. I trouble shot a bad thermal cutoff up above the heater coil and replaced it (quick delivery thanks to appliance pros). The heater coil reads 9.9 ohms and no breaks. The Hi limit thermostat by the coil is still reading good. The thermal fuse over by the housing is still reading good. Any idea's on why the heat isn't turning on or what to check next would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I just hate to toss something to the landfill. I double checked and the 240V, thermal fuse, coil, cutoff, and thermostat are all reading good but no hot air. I have the hose off the wall so I know it has a good discharge. Is there another fuse somewhere or maybe a switch in the dial? She's a Estate model electric TEDX640JQ1 . Thanks

When you checked the thermostats etc. did you disconnect one side of the device to ensure that you were not reading an alternate/parallel circuit path?

When checking the 240 did you check it inside the unit or just at the plug?

I would unplug the unit and set it at timed dry mid scale.
Attach (tape etc.) one meter lead to L1 either at the timer or on the line cord and leave it there. Then work you way back through the components checking for continuity. If you get all the way back to the right side (wiring diagram) of the heater and everything is OK then all that is left is a bad wire or the heater's centrifugal switch on the motor.

Since you motor does not overheat and trip it's thermal protect (the start winding left in circuit) I would guess that the centrifugal mechanism in the motor is working often they get clogged up with lint etc.

So odds are the switch is blown.
