Hello,

I have an interesting problem. My Maytag dryer is kicking off the Hi Temp sensor in the heating chamber. I have replaced the sensor with no success. When I bypass the sensor the dryer works great. The venting is very clear and open, but I notice the heating flame is very large and hitting the sensor bottom which triggers it off (as it should). Has anyone had experience with a gas valve failing in this manner. Thanks

The gas valve orifice determines the flame size. Either you have the wrong one, or the regulator has failed on your propane bottle.

Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me. The unit runs on natural gas and it is the original valve. Could the gas valve itself have a pressure issue. Thanks.

I have never heard of a gas valve acting up like this, but it's worth a try, this site has good return policy.
Also, check the brass orifice on the gas valve, possibly someone cleaned it out and enlarged it. If so, just order a new one from this site.
