Last week I noticed water leaking from the auto ice bucket, ice was melting inside. I removed all food trays from freezer and there was sheet of ice along the left side and back walls. I removed the back panel and defrosted the condensor coils and removed all the ice. After plugging back in the turbocool light came on and the fridge and freezer seem to be working fine. If I push the turbocool the fan kicks in, if I push it again it changes from bright green to slightly dimmer green but I am able to change the temp. settings. What could be the problem?

Thanks for your help,

Scott

It is located at the back of the refer, behind an access panel. Real easy to replace.

Thank you so much for the quick replies, GE website said they appreciated the fact I wanted to repair it myself but a ohm meter was required and I needed to call certified GE tech. I'm an ex navy gyro tech, I'll break out the o-scope if needed! I read some other forums regarding this board, does my s/n fall under category of free replacement? Where can I purchase the board?

Thanks so much again,
Scott

You can purchase the board here, I checked, and your refer does not fall under the category for a free repair. I just had a customer with the same problem as you yesterday. I charged $269 for the repair that you can do for $95 by purchasing the part here------->Part Details - GE Main board assembly, part number: WR55X10552
