I am about ready to order a new electronic control board (whirlpool part #8564544) The problem was that the dishwasher wouldn't turn on. The Normal wash cycle and heated dry light come on, but the on/off switch wouldn't work and the CLEAN status light was just blinking. When I took apart the front panel and took out the control board, I noted that the lead for the W-R was fried. My question is this, I obviously need a new control board right? but what about the socket this panel plugs into on the wire harness? That socket looks a little scorched but not bad, should I go ahead and order this panel, or does this whole wire harness with the socket also need to be replaced? If so, its a bit more complicated as the wire harness is buried in the front panel, and I need to dis-assemble the whole front of the unit, as opposed to just taking off the top control panel. Please advise, thanks gbolen

You can replace the wireharness in the door part number 8534931, which does require disassembling the door. Nat

Is replacement of the wireharness necessary or can you just replace the electronic control assembly? I have a nearly identical situation.
Thanks
