I normally can raise and lower the Cook N Vent snorkel and the vent fan always works. Occasionally though the snorkel will be stuck in the up position. I had replaced the on/off switch previously and have determined that the switch works properly and is not the issue. Now when the snorkel is stuck in the up position I have to take the J box cover off and then press against the com terminal on the gear motor switch slightly and release. Then I hit the on/off switch and the snorkel retracts. Its good for several cycles and then I have to repeat the above. Is it a bad gear motor switch?

Here are your parts, includes a wiring diagram Replacement parts for THERMADOR CVS45RS | AppliancePartsPros.comIs it a bad gear motor switch? Yes it could be the switch. Could also be that the switch is a little loose and is backing out so it does not close consistently. Also bending the switch activation arm a little so it pushes the switch in further may solve this. |

I'm pretty sure that my similar problem is a bad microswitch. But I can't quite figure how to disassemble enough to replace it or bend the arm. Are there assembly/disassembly instructions on the web somewhere? My mdoel is CVS30RB
