I realize my Original questions submitted on 07-29-2010 05:26 PM might take some research ! While I Waite for a response to my Questions Is it safe to continue using this Unit ? The crack runs the entire length 36" but it still supports the pans OK ! Also this is a monogram which is very expensive so I would like to avoid replacing the whole unit ! Any advise will be greatly appreciated . Thanks

You can still keep using the cooktop, as it can still hold the weight of ur cookware. But, you need to be very careful to avoid spills on the cracked ceran it may cause a thermal shock and shatter the cooktop completely

I had a cracked cooktop also--everything worked OK. I ordered a new cook top only, was not too expensive and put it in myself. I continued to use the stove without problems until the new top arrived. Lesley

Try turning off the breaker to the oven and that turns off my error message.

I can order a new top with or without the trim ( the price is about $300 More with trim ) GE MONOGRAM ZGU36ksk2ss So I want to know if I can get a new top without trim and transfer the old trim to it ??? Instructions would be nice Too ! Thanks
