I have the same issue with a Kenmore 110 dryer - it dries fine, but won't shut itself off with either timed dry or autosense dry. The timer knob does not move once set.
Thanks!

i would probably guess it was the buzzer that is wired to the timer, long story short it drives the timer and the time will count down until last 5 mins and hangs. part #ap3094100

In my case it was the timer. I replaced it and all is well. An easy way to check - BE VERY CAREFUL - is to watch the back of the timer as the dryer runs. On mine, there is a clear inspection cover. The timer motor was not turning at all. With the new timer you can see the timer motor rotating very clearly.

HTH.
