the clothes dry fine with the moisture sensor function but now the dryer will not shut off. I checked exhaust all clean. I checked the moisture sensor (black plastic piece with two chrome appearing pieces of metal. It is clean. Should I try to replace it, the part is cheap!
In the mean time, the dryer works fine using the timer.

Kenneth, The first thing I would do is check the moisture sensor. Check for continuity between the Yellow/Red wire and chassis ground. If there are no wet clothes touching the sensor, there should be no continuity (infinity). If there are wet clothes touching the sensor, there should be continuity. If either of these readings are not correct, replace the moisture sensor. If the moisture sensor checks good, replace the electronic control board.- The part number for the moister sensor is AP3094143 - The part number for the electronic control board is AP3713177 Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid dryer Model KGYS750LQ0Gene.

Take the back off the control panel(unplug the dryer) remove the small board beside the timer(Moisture sensing board) Just yank it straight out and clean the copper contacts. Get the corrosion off and press it back into the card slot. Retry and see if it starts working.It is worth a shot. It has worked for me.

Yes, you have to remove the top and front panels in order to access the wires. And do what SublimeMasterJW recommended - sometime it works.

ok gene. I checked the sensor no continuity unless i connector the two bars in the drum so I guess it is ok, Took the moisture control board out cleaned the contacts and will let the owner try it out. If that does not fix it, must be the little board. such a little board for over $100.00 . Oh well what can you do!

without going back and getting the numbers off of it, the new one has a whirlpool part number of ap3713177. It is identical to this one which is the new replacement for this dryer. http://www.appliancepartspros.c...53&diagram_id=125382If you have one, tell me where to send the $10.00 plus shipping and I will give it a try ok?

I will compare numbers and get back with you. I have a simular looking part in my truck.What I will do is run my number with the parts houses and see if I get that same new parts number.
