Ice maker will not refill, switched connections on valve sending unit, no water to ice maker when door water activated. Does this make the water valve sending unit the problem?

You could have a bad valve, or the water is frozen in the fill tube, where it goes into the ice maker. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Also I would recommend to check the optics. Open the freezer door, press in the emitter flapper door (on the left side) to unblock the optics beam and view the diagnostics "status" LED on the right side. Post your findings.
