I recently purchased a used 5 year old Roper washing machine and have a question. When we unhooked the two hoses from the back of the machine, we found a thimble filter screen inside each hose connection of the washer. They need replacing.
While Lowe's could not duplicate the old "thimble" screens we pulled out, they alternatively suggested filter hose screens that are inserted inside the "hose" couplings rather than inside the "machine hose connection" .
The question: Can I simply use filter hose washers with screens which are inserted inside the hose couplings rather than inserted inside the washer hose connection?
Lood forward to your advice ASAP. Many thanks, GaryS:confused: pi

Yes you can, as long as you have a screen between the valve and hose your good.
