Washer is about 3 years old I have had a sleu of problems, latest is the door lock. Tried to wash a load, door will not lock, get error code od, manuel states. Washer lid must be opened, solution ( This is a safety feature. the lid must be opened before another cycle is started) I have opened the door, closed the door unplugged the washer, turned it on turned it of. Nothing seems to help. This occurred once before the lid was not going all of the way back when it was opened, door was resting on a top cabnette. Pulled out washer away so door wood open without resting on top cabnette. This worked for several months until today same problem showed up, i tried same thing with no luck I have read all of the past bloggs all 110 pages. I did not see anyone else with the same problem on a maytag. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Rod

Please start a new post with your full model number, and a detailed description of your history with the machine, how it was operating up until the problem and whether or not you have opend the door and what happens if you start it up again.
In the meantime, if you have not unlocked it you can take off the lower front panel and reach up to the door lock assembly. You should find a small tab. Pull down gently and it should release the door.
Then, unplug the machine and try it again the following day and see if it does the same thing. You should also find a tech sheet inside the panel which may allow you to place it in test mode and to go through troubleshooting.

Thanks It's a Maytag Neptune FAV6800AWW We think it is the switch that is under the top. It is like a $75 part for 1 side.

Hi Aimee It sounds like the lid switch, but as you know there are two of them on your machine. The cost from this site (no I do not work for them) is a little less than your earlier post. See if you cannot tell if the switch is engaging by using a magnet and listening for a click, or using a magnet and meter to test continuity. Here is a service manual for your machine. http://www.servicematters.com/m...ibrary/docs/16022808.pdfGood luck
