I need to replace the light switch in my Frigidaire frig Model # frs26zthb1. Looks simple: there are two screws holding a panel which contains the switch, bulb and cold control. Can I just drop that panel? Then what's the next step?

Yes, you can remove the control panel (do not forget to unplug the refrigerator) and easy replace the light switch (#114 on the break down diagram). - The part number for the light switch is AP2143984 Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire refrigerator Model FRS26ZTHB1Gene.

Thanks, Gene. I was able to replace the switch without taking off the panel. I noticed the replacement switch had a couple of "barbs". I pushed a thin knife blade in behind the outer rim of the switch, depressed the barb and got one side free and then just wiggled it out.

I showed the easiest way but you choose more professional one. Good job.
Gene.
