Hi, I have a Kitchenaid KSRI25BTOO side by side.
The icemaker has suddenly quit working. I have done an optics diagnostic test, as well as tried a "jumper" test. The service light code indicates all is well (a steady 5-second light). The ice maker is filling with water, and I think the heater is working (it did when the jumper was connected anyway.). But, it isn't ejecting the ice. Fills, freezes, doesn't eject. Optics appear to be okay.
So, should I try replacing the motor module? Or, would it be better to replace the whole ice maker module? I'd love to save a few bucks if possible, but...
Thanks,
Perry

Hi Perry, Sounds like the ice maker is the culprit. I would recommend to replace the whole ice maker because the motor module is pretty expensive too and the rate of successful ice maker repairs is very low. - The ice maker Part number: AP3182733

Thanks Gene.
That's the reply I was expecting, and it makes sense. I'll order the entire unit.
Thanks.
