Fridge Periodically stops cooling which is accompanied by an occasional buzzing sound. If we unplug the unit and let it sit for 8 hours or so when we plug it back in it works fine for a couple weeks. Any ideas, appliances are not my strongsuit but am electrically experienced.

Remove the rear cover and clean the condenser coil. Check if the fan next to the compressor works properly.

At the time when it's acting up, check for frost on the rear panel inside the freezer. Check if the fan inside the freezer works.

Post the results.
