I have a hotpoint gas range that is run off propane gas. i just recently purchased a new burner with ignitor and a gas safety valve. now when i turn the oven on , the flame is huge and coming up into the oven. as before i had a very small flame. what could cause this problem. the oven reaches temp and the gas cuts off. Is there any way to adjust the flame on the burner?

Did you convert the new burner and safety valve to lp, they come set up for natural gas, so you need to change it.

on the safety valve, there is a brass plug, unscrew it and inside is a plastic piece that needs to be turned around.
