Hi - I don't know the age of the unit, but all of the sudden the fridge has started shutting itself off - when this happens both the fridge and the freezer shuts down and the digital display reads "-" "-" for both the fridge and freezer. It has done this 3 times now. First time was about a month ago, then recently it did it withing maybe 3-4 days.
Can someone help me diagnose this?
FYI we live in a very humid tropical environment so I am wondering if the defroster components are overheating - but agian I don't know anything about diagnostics on these things.

FYI I have a multimeter if that helps

Thanks for the manual reference. Which test should I run? The problem is the issue is intermittent and only seems to happen a number of days apart. I am thinkign if I run the on-board test they will check out okay and not show a part that is failing. Thanks for your input Originally Posted by: Gene

If the problem is really intermittent then there is not much what can be done. You should wait until it will do it more often.
