Have a dryer that wont start.. trying to fix it and I took the back apart and saw that the push start looked to be fired....I ordered a new part and the new one has three spots for wirers and the old one only had two....do the three have to be connected????.....

No.
Your switch probably has one connector that is not near the other 2, this is usually the Common.

The other 2 will be a Normally Open (NO) and a Normally Closed (NC).
They are usually marked on the switch.

You want to connect to the Common and the Normally Open.
