Ice maker is not making ice. Water valve has continuity and has water going to it. Water line entering freezer is not froze or clogged. Did not test water pressure - don't know how. And freezer temp between 14 and 17 degrees (F). Will installing a replacement ice maker get me ice or are there other possible problems that will keep the replacement unit from working?

The first thing which needs your attention if the temperature in the freezer is too high. Normal freezer temperature should be between 0°F to 5°F. Such high temperature is not safe for the food and can affect the ice maker performance. Try to set it lower. Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire refrigerator Model FRT21NNGD1Gene.

Gene, with both freezer and fridge set at coldest settings freezer only get down to 14 degrees. What need to be done to get freezer colder? Is this why I'm not getting ice?

Is the rear panel in the freezer covered with frost? If it's not then remove this rear panel and check how the evaporator coils (#17 on the break down diagram) covered with frost. Post the results. Gene.

Gene, the rear panel has some frost, slight to moderate, on the lower portion.

Remove the panel and check frost on the coils. Post your findings.
Gene.

Yes there is frost on the coils. Should I defrost the entire fridge?
