Washed 3 loads then washer stopped dead , after 10 hours of rest it began to work fine...still working, have only done 2 loads consequetively since. What is going wrong. Dont want to wait for it to completely die before fixing or knowing what to fix.

Bad idea! Measure the motor current with an amprobe before you burn out the motor! Should be around 8-9 amps. Above that and the motor will overheat. Motor overheating verified if it will not re-start after turning off. You can pull the outer cabinet off and check if motor is very hot.
