Hello,
Last week some canola oil boiled up in a pot and spilled over onto the left rear element down under the element and ignited. The pot was pulled off the element and the fuel burnt itself out. Now the left rear element does not work. The coil itself is OK as I tried it on the right front. Could the receptacle be damaged by a fire? It is I believe it is the Whirlpool part AP3075808.

Definitely. They're only made of plastic.

Yes, that looks to be the replacement element receptacle for your model:

Hi Dan, The plastic looks intact, Is there a fusable link inside it?

The contacts inside it are still intact and attached to the wires? The wiring between it and its switch might also need checking.

No, there are no fuses for the surface elements.
