I have a GE oven model JBP66WB4WW that will not heat up. Stove top works fine. Broiler seems to heat just fine. We were cooking and the PreHeat light came on with a beep like it is supposed to, we put in the food and set the timer. When the timer went off, we opened the oven and we were not hit with the hot burst of air like usual.
I took a multi-meter that has a thermostat setting on it and measured the temp. It was only 350F. Turned the oven off and back on, still could not get it hotter than 350. Turned it off and left it overnight (too tired to deal with it). Today I turned it on and the no heat at all.
So, is it the thermostat, heating element, control panel, something else? Anyway to test these items before ordering a new part? Is there a Tech manual available?
Thanks in advance!!

Here are your parts Replacement parts for GE JBP66WB4WW | AppliancePartsPros.comSo, is it the thermostat, heating element, control panel, something else? Could be something else but the ones you list are the most common. Anyway to test these items before ordering a new part? Yes. The element and the thermostat can be checked with a meter using ohms. Below is a good link with basic test/repair info. http://www.applianceaid.com/elecrange.htmlIs there a Tech manual available? Not that I know of, GE likes to keep their info secret. This probably keeps their techs busy. Check to see if the wiring diagram is taped to the drawer or elsewhere on the unit. Perhaps someone else will have a source for it. |

Thanks for the reply. I pulled the bake element out and tested it with an ohm meter...no connectivity between the leads.
Looks like I get to order a new element.
Thanks, Nitro.
