Just out of the blue our dishwasher has no power at all. We've checked the fuse box. We have replaced the circuit board. We've taken a look underneath by all the wires and cords. What else could it be?

There is a thermal fuse attached to the control board with a black and a black/white set of wires running to it. You will probably find voltage on one wire, but not on the other. Whirlpool (they made your Kenmore) has a kit available to replace that fuse. Just remember to to turn the power off first.

As a follow-up to the "no power" question; I have a Whirlpool dishwasher model no. DU940GWDB3. Mine has power but it won't turn on when we close the door and push the run selection button. The indicator lights on the buttons light up so I have power but nothing happens. Any suggestions?

You said the lights are on, when you press the cancel button does it drain? Start a cycle and let it go for at least two minuets. Does it start running. If so, your float switch (the little mushroom looking thing inside the tub) may be stuck in the up position preventing the water valve from turning on. If you don't get a drain operation and the pump never starts, you are probably looking at a control assembly.

I would like to thank Technician Brian for his insight on knowing that we needed to replace the thermal fuse of our dishwasher in order to regain power again!! Your expertise and directions were right on the money and very timely. :D Appliance Parts Pros praises are coming from my lips and others in need are listening.

we set the dishwasher to run this evening and went out - came home and there seems to be no power to the controls and there is some water still sitting in the bottom - breaker and power outlet seem fine. The mod number is DU1050XTPB3 Type 575-0...wasnt sure if the early advice on this post would help me also. Thanks in advance for any advice

You probably have the same issue going one. Remove the control panel (six star bit screws inside the door) and you will see the control board with a white thermal fuse attached to the side of it with a black wire and a black/white wire running to it. You should read 120vac on both wires when compared to ground. If you don't have a meter, you can turn off the power and placed a jumper wire (paper clip) temporarily between the two connectors, turn the power back on and see if the lights are now on. The fuse comes as a kit with instructions for replacement.
