Posted on here a week ago about defrost timer being replaced and the problem (frig doesnt come out of defrost mode without a bump) comes back the next week. Have since determined that defrost heater is bad (no continuity) but cannot figure out how to get it out and install new one since it is located behind evaporator coil in freezer compartment. Any suggestions on how to get it out and the new one in?

Looking at your diagram, it looks like the heater will unplug by pulling down. It should be under and on each side of the evaporator. Part 33 here. KENMORE | Model #10659092990 | SIDE BY SIDE REFRIGERATOR | UNIT | SearsPartsDirect.com
