Washer fills and agitates just fine, but then stops when rinse cycle is supposed to start. Does not drain or spin; just stops dead. Could this be just a bad lid switch? How do I bypass it to check? Could it be the timer? BTW, same result in all wash cycles.

Most likely the problem is a bad lid switch. You have to open the control panel to access its plug and remove the washer cabinet to replace it. - New lid switch and step by step instructions on how to replace the lid switch: Part number: AP3100003
