If holding the start switch in, and the motor runs fine without drawing excessive current ( like over 8 amps) you have a good motor. If the motor start switch fails to switch to the run winding, you would hear a louder than normal motor hum!! Then smoke!!

Normally it should sense the start of the motor and it does not. I've seen it many times before. - The part number for the control board is AP4319168 Good luck. Gene.
