Our A/C condenser/compressor unit was replaced recently. The old unit was 10 seer, the new unit is 13 seer. A home inspector tells us that the old breaker 35amp, needs to be replaced with smaller? one at 30amp to match the new compressor. Is that necessary? Safe?

The size of needed breakers should be written on the name plate of the unit and in the installation manual.

Breaker should correspond to 125% of the total amperage of the machine. :)
