My dishwasher is making a loud grinding (metal) sound when it starts washing. Sounds like something in the disposal part. (maybe?) I cannot find any information on checking for debris stuck in it. Do I need a repair person?

I know that the handle comes as part of the assembly, but I'd rather not spend $25 on the entire assembly, when all I need is the handle itself. If you could tell me the part number and the cost for the handle alone, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
