I'm looking into lawyers for a potential class action lawsuit in regards to these lids

Same issue, bought a replacement top and doing the same thing =(

Have the same thing happening to us right now. Using duck tape to keep lid down during wash cycles. I am so frustrated. 3 year old washer.

This the 3rd lid to break on left side. First one was in warranty
Second one I got Maytag to pay by luckily getting through by phone to Michael
He said he would get this one but no more. I asked him to look online at all the other complaints about same issue. He said wasn't aware of any problems and never said would look into it. Do please try every number you can find to get ahold of Michael and at least het a free one time repair. Better Business Bureau anyone?

I have the same issue left side hinge got broken bought an extended warranty and now they asurion is telling me they won't cover it because it was done intensionally..
Never again gonna buy Maytag or an extended warranty

I have the same issue, 2nd lid and now it broken. I thought Maytag stood behind their products, guess not.

Left hinge broke after having washing machine for a year. Right is now cracked. Have had machine for a little over 2 years.

Mine broke also left side. I have already replaced a water valve 100 dollar for parts. I have been a faithful Whirlpool customer for 50 years ( they make the Maytag ) My dad was a repairman. What you get now is a pc of Junk.

I found this... Read the comments, one guy used Gorilla glue and a metal L bracket to fix his.
