Same issue but both left and right side are cracked and pieces falling off. Started on the left side about 6 months ago. I’ve had for about 6 years. Searched everywhere for a recall or class action suit but there is nothing. If Maytag is aware so many people are having the same issue, there should be a recall to replace this.

I’m on my second lid and it broke again, less than 2 years later. So, now I need a third lid. Total crap product. The cost of the lid is now almost $300.00 Why won’t Maytag acknowledge this issue? The washer is only a few years old. I guess you need to buy a lid every year. BS! Edited by user Tuesday, January 3, 2023 8:06:47 AM(UTC)

We bought two (2) of this same Maytag washer from Home Depot for our primary and summer homes. Both lids cracked into pieces around the left hinges. To replace both would cost over $800! To not replace these obviously faulty parts for free is faulty, shoddy, and should we call them fraudulent business practices? A recall or class action lawsuit is in order.

Same here. Bought washer in 11/2019 and this plastic POS is broken already. Very disappointed as our old Kenmore washer lasted 25-years.

I have just emailed Maytag for the same problem. Our Maytag commercial washer is three years old and the lid is cracked on both sides at the back hinges. I’ve had no response from Maytag. So much for their customer service and quality product.

Same issue- just sent the following to Maytag support- not expecting much but will start here- this positively warrants a class action. Here is my comment to them (limited character space in comment field on Maytag's submission page, hence the oddly summarize comment) Comment/Question: Left lid hinge broken by internal lid lock mechanism. Purchased from John's Appliance in New Smyrna Beach, FL- they are no help- points us to you. Husband called your service line, on hold for over 20 minutes, call was then disconnected. This is a widespread, known issue with this machine- will you be making this right? reference: https://forum.appliancep...-washer-lid-hinge-broken Plenty more forums with a lot of others facing same
