Same thing happened to mine on left hinge. We replaced the top once already that cost over $400. (Half of the cost for the entire machine, I might add). Now the new top has broken in the same place for the 2nd time. I refuse to spend another $400 for another replacement. I honestly believe there needs to be some sort of class action. Maytag needs to take ownership and recall these machines and make it right with their customers.
Has anyone moved forward with class action as of yet?

Same problem here. Purchased new Maytag Bravos XL on June 30, 2020 from Lowes. It is now November of 2021 and I am replacing with the fourth lid (original plus 3 replacements).

Purchased the same in 2018, the lid was replaced twice under warranty (lid cracked on left side) and now has happened again. It's a yearly event apparently. Lid costs anywhere from $200-450 at various online sources. Maytag basically told me it was my own fault because I didn't continually extend my warranty. At this point they refuse to do anything except order the part for me at $434.99, I think the washer was originally $700.

We've had the same issue. We're looking for our third replacement. The last one only lasted a few months. We order the part and replace it ourselves. They say not to leave the top up but putting it down hasn't helped. We need a class action lawsuit. How does one start?

Same issue, left hinge, unit purchased feb 2019. Maytag/whirlpool still offer nothing. Bought an extended warranty but not active for 60 days, but will cover then. Part is currently out of stock.

Opened my washer today and AGAIN my hinge is cracked. Just replaced ENTIRE lid less than one year ago. I suggest anyone experiencing this issue , address it on TWITTER, using @Maytag. This is ridiculous.
