I have the same problem with the left hinge! It’s been repaired twice and now it’s cracking again. We will call tomorrow but they keep blaming it on us. I was the only one doing laundry because I was so afraid it was going to break again. Well, it is breaking again and I’ve been over the top fateful with closing the lid. Maytag blamed us for it.

Identical issue; lid frame broken at left hinge model mvwb865gw0 - part w11259006. Item is out of stock everywhere I look and priced very high. Speaking with repair technicians and parts suppliers (as well as this forum), this is VERY COMMON. I'm calling Whirlpool and asking for a warranty ticket on it, but I'm out of time on phone hold today.
Washer purchase April 2019 at Lowe's.
How do you start a class action suit?

Maytag washer top keeps breaking on the left hand side by the hinge. I know this a problem they will not acknowledge.

Same issue. Purchased ours from Lowes and the left hinge is broken. It is crumbling. Have to press the corner down to wash clothes and if it isn’t making the contact, it throws a signal code and we have to start the load all over again. Very frustrating!! js1moreday@yahoo.comEdited by user Tuesday, December 28, 2021 1:40:14 PM(UTC)

Model MVWB765FW2 piece of junk. Less than 2 yrs, lid just self destructed. we may have helped it, hard to say but it's a washer that gets a lot of use. Was there a problem with simple metal lids ? uh.....no. btw, this part is sold out at most if not all places, that tells you there was a problem.

My hinges on my Maytag washer that is under two years old have broke 4 times now. I have the extended warranty and haven’t had to pay out of pocket, but it’s new and I shouldn’t be having issues with it. there should be a recall on this machine.
