I AM A HYBRID & E/V AUTO TRADESMAN...
WIFES DRYER QUIT... ISOLATED FAULT TO THERMAL FUSE...
REPLACED THERMAL FUSE(150C/10A) & HIGH LIMIT THERMOSTAT...CLEANED OUT EXCESSIVE LINT (LINT TRAP DEFORMED) FIXED.
DRYER OUTSIDE VENT SCREEN WAS ALSO PLUGGED... FIXED
RAN FOR 2 DAYS QUIT AGAIN (WHEN IN COOL DOWN CYCLE - CLOTHES STILL DAMP)
TESTED BOTH HIGH LIMIT(L248) & CONTROL THERMOSTATS(L146)( FOR CONTINUITY & OPENING @ CORRECT TEMP... BOTH PASSED.
TESTED HEATER ELEMENT... 11 OHMS - PASSED.
HEATED ELEMENT NOT SHORTING TO HOUSING...
CHECKED BLOWER WHEEL... SECURED CORRECTLY.
MACHINE EXHAUST VENTING CLEAR...
TESTED DOOR SWITCH... CONTINUITY & OPEN - PASSED
FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THE THERMAL FUSE SHOULD BE A "LAST RESORT FUSE"...
BUT BOTH HIGH LIMIT & CONTROL THERMOSTATS TEST OK...
IS IT POSSIBLE MOTOR IS DRAWING TO MUCH CURRENT & BLOWING THE THERMAL FUSE DUE TO CURRENT?
DOES THE MOTOR NOT HAVE ITS OWN "BUILT IN PROTECTION"(FUSE OR THERMAL SWITCH)???
DO YOU HAVE A SPEC FOR MOTOR DRAW/RESISTANCE TESTING?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
