Glad it helped.
Received nothing but defective Timer switches from the vendor (Whirlpool), so bought a new dryer.
Problems solved. ;-)

Thank you so much for the article How to Check Continuity with a Ohmmeter. I have had a hard time finding a book that is able to guide a beginner on the proper use of an Ohmmeter, and appreciate the information.

Greetings... Wirlpool #ler4634eq2... Everthing runs - except there is no heat... I replaced the heating element - did not fix the problem.... Pruchased a multi-meter today so I don't waste any more money on replacing parts I do not need... Problem is what to set the meter on...everything I read says rx1...the meter I have does not have a Rx1...under the OHM's dail it has X1k and X10...Help???...which do I use??.. And, what parts should I check??..thermostat, thermal cut off, thermal fuse??...am I on the right track here.. Thanks so much for your help...

hi there Gene the problrm that I have is my electric dryer Whirp is not working I checked the electric panel amd also the belt seems fine My guess is that the motor is shock my drfyer is 5 years old and I do not not how 2 use a ohmmeter or multimmeter ( I have something with these labes DCV< ACV< BATT< MA< OMEGA SIGN < AND TWO SYMBOLS ? so I am really confused how to find out the problem by the way the model is LEQ9598LWO
