My question is what did i mess up now? When the washer runs it goes thru the motions but after agitation it won't spin unless I physically spin it, lift the lid them close it, or turn the machine of then on again What could the problem be? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Meagan

it may be the lid switch is failing.
after years of closing [slamming] the lid closed the lid switch mechanism begins to separate.
try accessing the lid switch and see if it seems to be split open. if so find some good strong zip ties and run 2 around it good and tight and replace it into the machine

Here is a picture of how-to
I only have one zip tie at the moment so I show it in both positions.
