Remove power from the unit.
Then remove the element and check that it is exactly the same as the old element. What is critical is the distance from the plate that holds the element to the back of the oven cavity to the end of the element connections. If too long it can short out to the rear cover plate in the oven.
Check the replacement element with a meter. Check it's resistance. I do not know what it should be but is probably 20+ ohms. Also check from each element connector to the mounting plate and any feet that it may have. All should be infinite ohms.
If all OK you may want to tape up or somehow make sure that the connectors cannot short to each other or anything else and then try to reset the breaker. If it still will not reset then you know that the element is not the culprit and you will have to dig deeper. |

You are welcome.
And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause. |
