Pulled the thrust bearing. Looks good no worn spots on gear. Now I can't get the C clip back on because it does not engage slot in shaft. It must have been put on under pressure because I can't get it to engage slot.

Now I cannot get the c-ring back on shaft. With the washer on the slot is not able to accept the c-ring.??????????????
