The defrost on my Whirlpool fridge (ET14NKXGW02) is not working (freezes up).
I have already confirmed that the defrost heater works.
I have located the timer, but am confused about locating the "bi-metal switch".
Is it the small silver and blue clip-on "button" on this wiring harness :

If so, I put it in a sealed cup full of ice for over an hour and never got continuity across that "button". Am I on the right track ?

Thanks DenMan !
I "jumpered" that defrost thermostat, and the timer kicked on the heater (when it reached the "defrost cycle"). So now I've replaced the defrost thermostat and the whole thing works perfectly !
Thanks again.

You are welcome

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
