My Kitchenaid won't always start. It loses power to the control board. Sometimes slamming the door works OR I just take the inside top panel off, wiggle the ribbon where it connects to the control panel and then it's ok. I have cleaned the contacts with spray but my guess is the ribbon may be damaged. The ribbon doesn't lose total electrical connection because the "clean"
button will light up. When the other control buttons fail to light up the "clean" button, when pushed, starts a short cycle of some sort and then stops. Also the "heavy" indicator light does not work so my guess is that panel is malfunctioning as well OR just isn't getting the proper power supply because of the ribbon. "Note" by pushing the ribbon on just one corner gets the machine to function.
