Hi,
I have a Whirlpool LE5800XSW0 over 20 years old but working well. The heating element failed; I verified this by testing continuity of the fuses, thermostats, and element; all were good except the element.
My problem is that the unit has a single piece box for the heating element and I can't get the thing out of the dryer. Are there any other screws than the top mounting screw? I believe I have everything disconnected but the box won't budge. I cannot visually locate any other fasteners. Before I take a rubber hammer or anything stronger to it I'd like to find out if I am missing anything.
Thanks!

Thanks. I believe that is the screw that holds the heating element to the heater box; I removed it and the element is free; however I cannot get enough clearance to pull the element out of the box without removing the box. I haven't found any other fasteners.
