Hello,

The only button that lights up is "Locked hold to lock".
From there the machine won't do anything.
Won't start a cycle.

Question is that a Latch or a control panel (Mother board) problem?

Here are your parts

Note that lock does not refer to the door lock.
It is a software keypad lock.

Have you tried unlocking it. see below.

Control Lock
To avoid unintended use of your dishwasher, or cycle and option changes during a cycle.
To turn on Lock, press and hold Heated Dry for at least 3 seconds.
To turn off Lock, press and hold Heated Dry for at least 3 seconds.

When Control Lock is lit, all buttons are disabled. If you press any pad while your dishwasher is locked, the light flashes 5 times. The dishwasher door can be opened while the controls are locked.

If the above does nothing then try removing power from the unit for a few minutes to see if the computer will reset.

If neither of the above does anything then I will have to try and find a tech sheet so you can check the keypad.
The problem will either be the control board or the keypad.

Hello Denman,

Thank you for taking time reading and answering my question.

I shut the power off for more than 20 seconds and restart the machine.
Still the Lock light remained ON.
I also pressed it for 5 seconds, and nothing flashed and dishwasher door is still open-able.

It just happened once after my twentieth attempt that the Wash light went ON. Some noise like engine/water running wanted to comes, but after 30 seconds, it stopped. NO traces of water inside. And the light "Lock" stayed ON.

Does this last observation help for a diagnostic?
Does it confirm an issue with the KeyPad lock.

It does sort of pint to the control board but I cannot say how strongly it points to it.

Does it confirm an issue with the KeyPad lock.
Yes there is a problem with it.
It will be the control board or the control panel/keypad.
The normal way to troubleshoot is to check the key outputs from the control panel and then if it is OK replace the control board.
Still a bit of a crap shoot but your odds are better.

The tech sheet has info on how to check key switches.
Since the Heated Dry switch is the active key that is the most important one you want to check.
It may be that it is always closed.

Hello Denman,

I am having an issue again with my Maytag dishwasher.
In September, I changed the front panel and it was fine.

All the lights indicators went on and the machine run smoothly.
Five months after, I observed the same problem.
No more lights on the panel, machine not working.
I dismantled the panel and reassembled it again, it worked for one week.
Died after.

Do you think it the mother board the problem?

ASince the control panel is relatively new it does point towards the control board.

Perhaps try removing power from it for a few minutes to see if it will reset.
Either unplug it or flip the breaker off.

If it does reset this also points to a control board problem.

Hello Denman,

What would you suggest next?
A new panel with a new motherboard were re-installed.

Unlike the first time, nothing happened. Is there is another part you would recommend me to try to change before I give up?

Is there is some kind of senser that would prevent the machine to run in that condition?

Is there is a device that could be plug to the machine and tell you what is wrong? This instead of guessing which part is defective?
