Around each burner there are screws. Have you removed all of the screws?

tsgolden10: Yes, four screws removed around the big center burner, two screws each on the other burners. Was also careful to remove the upstand and any screws at the back top. What am I missing?

Dave - I know that there were a number of screws in the back. You also need to slide the top of the stove to the front and lift at the same time. I think that is it

I just did this repair last weekend and not having a lot of details to go on, I thought I would add to this thread with some info that hopefully will be helpful for the next person.

As mentioned, you need to remove the stove top to get to the wiring and thermocouple connection. To do this, remove the screws around each of the burners (as mentioned). Then you need to remove the screws holding the "L" brackets on the back of the oven. Two screws on either side that screw into the back of the oven. Then the top can be lifted up, starting from the back, with the L brackets remaining attached to the stove top.

I've attached an image of the L-bracket from the manual.

The backguard can remain attached to the top when removed, although we removed it in order to do some deep cleaning of the top while we had it off.

The next challenge was getting to the back of the oven, where the wiring/thermocouple was routed. There is a "zip-tie" that holds the wires together. This needs to be clipped. I found the easiest way to get to it was to remove the two screws on the right side of the back panel (the panel with the vents in the attached picture), which allowed it to be pulled away enough to get my hand back there to clip the zip-tie and route the new thermocouple wire. You might also need to remove an additional screw through the back panel at the top, that screws into the oven vents. Removing one of them helped with opening up the panel. It's sheet metal and has enough flexibility to move out of the way by removing just those three screws.

I hope this helps!

Hello -- I am having this very problem for the first time with my Bertazzoni, the oven will ignite but won't stay lit, however broiler and stovetop will stay lit. I have the same model as the original poster X365GGVX but mine has LPG/01 at the end. In the parts section it lists 2 thermocouple oven burner parts (508026 and 508041). I'm not sure which to order -- does anyone know?

We had the same problem. Did not find ANY solutions on the web. Figured it out, though. Yes: replacing the thermocouple DID fix the problem. Removing the range top WAS difficult (or so I thought) and we could not find ANY help on the issue. We figured it out. Basically, the missing bit of information is that (after you discover the more obvious screws on the back of the unit that clearly lock the back of the oven top to the base, and remove) the range top is also secured by multiple, small screw that surround each of the burners. By removing all of the 12 screws, the top tilted easily forward and slipped off the front, giving easy access to the OTHER end of the thermocouple! (yeah!) From there it is fairly easy to free the line from zip ties, then unscrew the thermocouple, order a new one (got ours quickly for @$20) and replace. Bingo.

I just replaced the thermocouple on my Bertazzoni X366GGVX range and made a short video of the process:

It's really not that hard if you're at all handy. Hopefully this will help someone.
