Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 12/16/2007(UTC) Posts: 1		Our 2.5 year old Maytag electric oven is slow to heat up (like hours!) but the broiler seems to work just fine. The display and clock work fine and there are no error messages. Any ideas? My husband is jumping to think that it is a control board issue but I think it might be different. Help!

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 12/13/2007(UTC) Posts: 323		most electric ovens utilize the broil element to assist in preheat and also to help create a "halo" of heat to help brown in bake model... he could check to see if there is 220vac to the bake element ( VERY CAREFULLY !) more than likely the bake element quite possibly has gone bad ( if you are indeed getting 220vac to the element...
