My Whirlpool Cabrio dryer seems to over heat and puts out high temps no matter what the temp setting....high , med , or low .
I've checked the whole vent system and the blower , as well as the inside of the cabinet and have found no problem .
Is there a temp thermostat or temp control which may have gone bad and needs replacing ?
thanks

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool WED6200SW1 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

Yes there is a thermistor that can be checked, see the tech sheet.

The first thing I would check for a grounded element.
Unplug the unit and both wires from the element.
Measure across the element, should be 8 to 12 ohms.
Then measure from each side if the element to it's cas, both should be infinite ohms.
If not the element is grounded and should be replaced.
