Here are your parts Parts for KitchenAid KEBC107KSS04 Oven - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. More info would help. This is the second surge protector, correct? Has this oven been at this location for some time or is it a new install? Has any electrical work been done on the house? Did you check the voltages with a meter? What part on the protector blew? |

Yes it is the second one, by mistake I blew out the one comes with the unit, Oven is new but I did a bad connection to the 240 volts and blew it out, I got the replacement and installed it, aferter 20 minutes when the oven was working it blew out again. I have 240 at the outlet.

What do you mean by a bad connection blew it out?
I am assuming that the connection worked Ok for the 20 minutes the oven was on.
I do not think that the oven could blow the suppressor so that is why checking the voltage is important. Not only the 240 but also the two 120 volt sides (L1 and L2). Also the ground and Neutral hook ups. Note that 3 wire and 4 wire hook ups are different. That info should be on the Whirlpool or KitchenAid site as part of the install sheet.
Note that the protector only protects the L1 side of the line and the Neutral as this is what powers the control board. |
